For 50 years, Cohasset Road Race by the Sea, presented by Cohasset Rotary Club, has been a spring running tradition. Our scenic yet challenging course begins and ends beside the quintessential Cohasset Town Common. The route includes the Atlantic coastline with views of both Boston and Minot Lighthouses. Minot will cheer you with its famous blinks 1-4-3 ("I love you").

This race is Cohasset Rotary Club’s signature fundraiser. Through net proceeds and the generosity of our sponsors, we continue to “raise money to give it away” - to local charities - and global initiatives done in conjunction with Rotary International.

Race weekend is our favorite weekend of the year!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the legendary run. We are so pleased to partner with Safe Harbor Cohasset Coalition, who will orchestrate the walk portion of the event. If you're not a runner, we invite you to register for the walk, beginning at 10 a.m., and support the important work of the Coalition.

8th Annual Wessagusset 5K Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run

Sunday, May 31, 2026 - O’Sullivan Field

Join us for the 8th Annual Wessagusset 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run! Come support the Wessagusset School community by running, walking, or enjoying the family-friendly activities and raffles happening throughout the morning.

All proceeds directly support educational opportunities and enrichment programs for all Wessagusset students.

Event Schedule

Kids Fun Run Dash: 8:30 AM

5K Run/Walk: 9:00 AM

Check-In Opens: 8:00 AM

Early Check-In: Saturday, May 30th • 3–5 PM at Wessagusset Elementary School (Bib pickup available)

Registration Fees

Kids Fun Run: $15

5K Run/Walk: $30 Early Bird (Register by April 30th)

• $35 (May 1 - May 30th)

• $40 (Race Day May 31st)

Family Rate: $75 for a family of 4+ (Valid through Saturday, May 30th)

T-Shirts

T‑shirts will be provided to the first 200 registered participants.

Must register by Friday, April 30, 2026 to be guaranteed a shirt.

Parking

No parking in the school lot on Pilgrim Road.

Parking available in the public lot off North Street.

Volunteers will direct traffic starting at 7:30 AM.

Timing Chips

Each participant will receive a numbered bib containing a timing chip.

You must wear your bib to be officially timed and scored.

Bibs are included in your registration packet.

Post‑Race Party

Right after the 5K, the North Weymouth Civic Association will host Neighborhood Day, open to all runners and spectators.

Enjoy food, drinks, music, and kid-friendly activities!

Adult - $30.00 thru 6/26 / $35.00 race day

Student (age 11-18) - $20.00 thru 6/26 / $25.00 race day

Child (age 10 and under) - $15.00 thru 6/26 / $20.00 race day

Fun Run (ages 8 & under ONLY) - FREE

shirts included for the first 48 registered fun runners age 8 & under

sizes will be given out first come, first served

Fun Run is approximately 1/10th of a mile long

Shirt deadline: June 6th

Friday, June 26th from 3:00pm - 6:00pm at Hanover YMCA, 75 Mill Street, Hanover

Saturday, June 27th from 7:30 am - 8:15 am at the Hanover Town Hall, 550 Hanover Street

5K begins at 8:30 am

Fun Run begins at 9:30 am

THE STARTING LINE IS 1/4 MILE WALK FROM THE REGISTRATION AREA - PLEASE ARRIVE IN ENOUGH TIME TO PICKUP/REGISTER AND WALK TO THE START.

Every child is a winner in this race! Our goal is to create a fun, relaxed, and inspiring experience for kids ages 6 to 14.

The race begins at the Cohasset Swim Center, offering easy access with convenient parking nearby. The swim portion takes place in a fantastic 25-yard outdoor pool. The bike and run segments are held on Sohier Road, a two-lane route fully closed to vehicle traffic.

CATEGORIES:

• 8 & UNDERS (Swim 2 lengths of the pool, Bike 1.4 miles, Run 1/2 mile)

• 9-10 YEAR OLDS (Swim 4 lengths of the pool, Bike 1.4 miles, Run 1 mile)

• 11-12 YEAR OLDS (Swim 6 lengths of the pool, Bike 1.4 miles, Run 1 mile)
