What Is a Criterium (Crit)?

About this event

Racers from around the world are welcome to participate in the Schoolyard Rumble. However, to be eligible for a Crit State Championship title, rider must be an Ohio resident AND must hold a current annual USAC license (per Rule 7J3). Age group winners will be provided the information to order a State Champion Jersey on site. The Host Team (ZWS / Brilliant Advice) would like to help offset the price of the jersey, but there are no guarantees. We will let you know on the day of the event. USAC & OCA will not be providing medals this year.

PARKING: Use the Mason Elementary / Mason Intermediate entrance (off Mason-Montgomery Rd) to access the event and event parking. Use the parking lot to the left. If overflow parking is needed, use the lot to the right. For GPS directions, use this address 6307 Mason Montgomery Rd, Mason, OH 45040

RESTROOMS: There will be Port-o-lets on site. There is no water source available on site. Please plan accordingly.

    The CXTT is a series of practice races. Cyclists race against the clock on a 2-3 mile course in Kingswood Park in Deerfield Township. This gives the everyone an opportunity to reconnect with the cyclocross community, tune their equipment and training, and give folks new to the sport to try it out in a no-pressure environment.

    The CXTT will be on Wednesdays, August 12, 19, 26, and September 2. Riders are called to line up around 6:15, with the first rider starting at 6:30.

    Single week registration is $15/rider. Registration and signed waiver is due on noon on race day. You will receive a race number which you will need for the whole series

    New for 2026 is the option to pay for all four races in the series at once for $40. This must be done by noon on Wednesday, August 12.
