The GNI Center for Chiari and Syringomyelia is excited to announce our upcoming 5K Run, Walk, and Roll. This community-focused event is dedicated to raising awareness and support for individuals affected by Chiari malformation and syringomyelia. The event will occur on 5/16/26 at Challenge Grove Park in Cherry Hill, NJ.

This event is not only a race but also an opportunity to bring together families, advocates, and healthcare professionals to promote education, solidarity, and hope. Proceeds from the 5K will benefit Chiari-related research and activities through the GNI Center for Chiari and Syringomyelia.

Packet pickup will begin at 9 AM and the race will start promptly at 10 AM! Please feel free to bring leashed dogs to join the race as well.

The event kicks off with an exciting road run through the neighborhood from Van Zant School to the Woodstream Swim Club where athletes will compete in a fun swimming race. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each age group, and every participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt. All non-members of the swim club are invited to stay for the rest of the day and will recieve a free day pass to the pool for one child and one adult. (Additional day passes may be purchased for other immediate household members for $10 each. Day passes are only valid for 5/30/26).

    It’s the perfect summer challenge combining swimming, running, and tons of fun!

    Proceeds from this event will help to support the Van Sciver PTA’s purchase of new gym and playground equipment, educational assemblies, field trips, and more. Thank you for making Van Sciver a place where Haddon Township's kids thrive!

    The Fun Run will be organized into heats in the following order:

    Run with the Docs is a 5k run and 1 mile walk that will be held Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Virtua Voorhees Hospital in Voorhees, NJ.

    We will organize a packet pickup (dates TBA) for t-shirts and bibs. (Race-day registrations and online registrations received after May 25 may receive their t-shirts after the race, beginning the week of June 15.) And back by popular demand, canine participants will receive a bandana.

    Prizes will be awarded! Categories include first overall male, first overall female, largest team, top 3 fundraising teams, and top 3 men and women in each of 8 age groups! There is also a prize awarded to our top fundraising team! We want to thank TEAM BLAKE for being our top fundraising team in 2025!

    NEW for 2026: a cash 50/50 and Basket Raffle will add excitement to the day! No pre-sales of tickets are permitted; winners must be present to claim prizes.

    Run with the Docs benefits Virtua’s Perinatal Bereavement and Palliative Care Program, which provides support and care to families experiencing pregnancy or infant loss. The program helps to ensure that families who experience loss have access to a multidisciplinary range of services that provide comfort and support during a very difficult time.
