Distances Offered 5K - This event is chip timed. You can walk or run the 5K. There is a 1 hour and 5 minute cutoff time (21.5 minutes per mile pace.)

5 mile - This event is chip timed. There is a 1 hour and 15 minute cutoff time (15 minutes per mile pace.)

Get ready to experience everything that makes Cramerton incredible—on foot!

The Goat Island Games start and finish at Goat Island Park, a stunning 30-acre park nestled in the South Fork Catawba River. The course takes runners on a scenic tour through Downtown Cramerton, past the Veterans Memorial, through Stuart Cramer High School’s state-of-the-art campus, and alongside views of the iconic train trestle. You’ll crest the course near a one-of-a-kind public art sculpture before heading through the Lakewood Neighborhood and crossing the finish line back at Goat Island.

Celebrating America 250🎆

This year’s race is extra special as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary! Our famous Goat Island goat will be decked out in red, white, and blue attire, and we’re encouraging runners to join the fun by wearing their patriotic attire on race day. We are proud to be an official Gaston 250 event!

Race History

The Goat Island Games began in 2016 and expanded in 2018 to include a 5K, later adding a 5-Miler—giving runners even more ways to participate.

Shirt Guarantee Deadline:

Register by Monday, April 13 to be guaranteed a race shirt. Shirts are ordered based on the size selected during online registration and cannot be exchanged.

    The Cannonballs Cycling Team (CCT) Annual Metric Century is back for its 28th year, and we have new exciting offerings in store! This year we are offering run options for those who aren’t cyclist or simply looking for more of a challenge, and for the first time we’ll incorporate timing.

    METRIC & HALF METRIC RIDERS: You read the above correctly, if you are one of our annual riders…this year we will incorporate timing so we don’t have so rely on Strava. Come put your endurance to the test as you conquer the hills throughout Mecklenburg, Gaston and Lincoln Counties while raising funds for local charity. Participates are invited to join individually or as a team. This police escorted ride starts and concludes at White Water Middle School in Charlotte, North Carolina. CCT Metric and Half Metric participants will have SAG support and many options for fuel and nutrition at each rest stop.

    FUN RIDERS: CCT will host the annual 15-mile Fun Ride again this year, it will begin at 8:45 AM (CCT Guided Route, not timed).

    RUNNERS: There will be a traditional 5k (run only) option, and a duathlon (5k run followed by any bike distance) option. The 5k for both options will begin at 7:00 AM.

    • SAG support throughout ride (Metric/Half Metric Riders only)

    • Lunch for all participants following ride

    • Finisher Gift for all CCT Metric, Half Metric Riders, Duathlon or 5k registrants (Guaranteed for first 150 participants)

    This is an easy-to-navigate out-and-back course on the Catawba River in Mt. Holly, NC (just outside Charlotte) starting and ending at Dutchman's Creek Landing.

    This is the culmination of the three-event Charlotte Open Water Swim Series. For beginners, or those just wanting a leisurely swim at this scenic riverside setting, we also have an 800-yard fun swim.

    Safety is top priority, and we will have kayakers and monitors across the course. Food, beverages and good times afterward!
