5k Half Marathon Run Walk

Welcome to the Braga Half Marathon, the event where your legs might suffer, but your heart will love it! ❤️ Braga is a gem in the north of Portugal 💍, nestled between Porto 🇵🇹 and the Spanish border. Tucked in the Minho region, Braga is a historic and lively city blending ancient monuments, a youthful vibe (thanks to the students!) 📚, and cuisine that may just derail your race training 🌮. The program is straightforward: Braga invites you to its 9th edition of the Caravela Seguros Meia Maratona to discover three events! 🏅 First, the much-anticipated 21 km race for seasoned athletes 🏃‍♂️, a Super 5 km for eager sprinters 🥁, and a Mini Caminhada de 6 km for those who prefer sightseeing 👀 (this means the race is non-competitive, so forget your stopwatch ⏳). Picture yourself at the start line, surrounded by a buzzing crowd 🔊, with elite runners on one side 💪 and fun-seekers wondering why they signed up 😅. The gun goes off, and you're off on a journey (or a test of e

ndurance, depending on your level) through Braga's historic streets! 🌆 But maybe we're exaggerating a little. Events like these are great because you can chase a personal best or take it easy. 😉 The time limit for the half marathon is 3 hours, giving you plenty of time to jog leisurely and become the finisher you've always dreamed of being 🤗.

Cães D' Avenida is one of Porto's original running crews, and it’s still one of the most loved. It started out as a group of friends running together in 2011, and by 2013, it became an official sports association. Friendship, helping each other, and a real passion for running are at the heart of everything they do. The name, which means "Dogs of the Avenue" in Portuguese, began as a joke but now stands for a close-knit group of local runners, most between 30 and 60 years old. They’re known for their open monthly training runs and for organizing the Corrida Pidas, a 10k race that brings the whole city together in memory of their founder.
