  This is a trail run through the beautiful woods of Colt Creek State Park. Whether you're aiming for a personal best or reveling in the joy of the run, our race at Colt Creek State Park promises an unmatched blend of fitness, camaraderie, and natural beauty. Picture towering pine trees, flat terrains, and serene lakes—all set against the backdrop of pristine wilderness.

  Our courses are very well marked with signage. Aid stations will be every 2.5 miles. Some will be self-serve and some will have volunteers. On-course restrooms will be at mile 3, 6, and 9.5 of the Half-Marathon and mile 3 of the 10k. Keep our State Parks clean. Dispose of all trash in the trash cans.

  All of our races are professionally chip timed and managed. Our events are family friendly with a vibe that has athletes returning year after year. Each athlete will receive a swag item, medal and post race snacks. We have overall awards and age group awards for each distance.

  Are you with a Run Club? Get your team together and compete in our Run Club Competition. Awards will be given to the fastest team in the 5K, 10k and Half (cross-country scoring). We also give out the Get Up & Go Award, which goes to the largest team.

  On Sunday, April 12th, 2026, the 6th Annual Cassidy Otto Stomp Out Cancer 5K Run will take place at The Shops at Wiregrass. The 3.1 mile chip-timed course will start at 8:00am following a welcome ceremony at the start line. There will be a water station along the course as well as water at the start/finish. A Kid's Fun Run will follow the 5K for children 7 and under. We will celebrate our hard work with an international-themed family fun festival including activities for kids, international food, live music, and a silent auction.

  Post-Race Festival

  Join us for the Cassidy Otto Stomp Out Cancer 5K Festival! Following the 5K race, gather with friends and family for refreshments and food from around the world, live music, fun activities and Silent Auction featuring artwork from Cassidy's sketchbooks! Moffitt Cancer Center will be providing free head and neck and skin cancer screenings. All proceeds to benefit then Cassidy Otto Stomp Out Cancer Foundation, the Children’s Cancer Center, and Moffitt Cancer Center, as well as other local initiatives that support our mission.

  The Cassidy Otto Stomp Out Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization with the belief that community is stronger than cancer. Cassidy Otto is a 9-year-old from Lutz, FL who embraced life and love, but tragically lost her battle with medulloblastoma, a rare form of pediatric brain cancer, on 12/25/20. Global Running Day is our holiday; a celebration of the activity we love and the sport that brings our community together. We’re inviting all runners and walkers to join us on June 3rd to mark the occasion, set a goal and cross the finish line of The Big Run 5K presented by Brooks. You can expect Live Music, Doggy Cooling Stations, Face Painting, and much much more!!!! The first 200 registered in-person participants will get a medal, t-shirt, food, drinks, and some goodies from our sponsors.
