2026 Moonlight Beach Half Marathon & 10k

The La Jolla Half Marathon is one of America's most picturesque and beautiful point-to-point races. Starting at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, the course follows a scenic coastal route before reaching the challenging climb to the summit of Torrey Pines State Park. The course then rolls atop Torrey Pines mesa, continues down through residential La Jolla Shores, and finishes at La Jolla Cove.

For those interested in a shorter option, the La Jolla Shores 5K offers a mostly downhill course and features some of the most scenic views of the last 3.1 miles of the half marathon course.

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION FOR 2027!!

Kick off your Super Bowl Sunday with a 10K or 5K and race down the Coast Highway 101. Take in epic views of the Pacific Ocean and a few world-famous surf breaks.

Touted as one of the most beautiful race courses in Southern California, this out-and-back course will excite runners with its gradual downhill beginnings, challenged with some manageable uphill elements on the returns before delivering participants onto a sure-to-please final stretch through downtown Encinitas.

Running or walking the coast not enough for you? Then join our famous costume contest and win some great prizes.

Got kids that want to run? Join our Jr. Kook Run on Saturday (Feb 13) at packet pickup (open to ages 3-12)

• Can't be there on race day? Then VIRTUALLY RUN the KOOK on your own time and location of choice. Packets for the virtual option will be mailed out on race week
