5 WEEKS TO ULTRA TRAIL AUSTRALIA!

Perfect training run for those wanting to see a lot of the UTA50 and UTA100 courses, including Kedumba, Fern Bower and the stairs around Wentworth Falls. Get some solid stair training done or just get a guided run in the Blue Mountains.

The experienced trainers from BLUE MOUNTAINS FITNESS have teamed up again with THE BODY MECHANIC. We align our BMF UTA Training Runs with STREEK.RUN UTA Base Training Plans (Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced) and the Event Specific UTA11, UTA22, UTA50 and UTA100 Race Training Plans.

This is the end of Week 11 of The Locker Room 16 Week Race plans for Ultra Trail Australia.

For more info on The Locker Room Plans check out -

    https://app.streek.run/race-hub/uta-training-plans/

The training course will be the QV Loop of the UTA50/UTA100 course with some added parts of the other UTA courses added to get the extra KM. Minimum distance is 20km.

For those wanting 10-15km extra distance from the basic 34km loop there are questions in the registration process to answer so we know what your training goals are for this run.

The training course route may change due to UTA Course changes and/or National Parks/Council closures, landslides, floods or any unforeseen circumstances. We will update details as soon as possible.

BLUE MOUNTAINS FITNESS is one of only a few companies with a National Parks and Wildlife ECO PASS licence to carry out run training on the Ultra Trail Australia course. We have been training runners for 15 years to complete the arduous UTA course since 2011. We have highly experienced trainers who know the trails better than most.

We are NPWS ECO PASS licensed and insured to carry out this training within the National Park.

WHY? This is a great training run to get a look at the UTA50 course and parts of the other UTA courses - UTA11, UTA22, UTA50 and UTA100. See where you are at with your training. The Run Trainers at BMF have a wealth of experience to pass on - race prep, race gear, training and race nutrition, race strategy, pacing and info on the course.

We do not leave runners and walkers behind. We have plenty of options with the different pace groups and distances. Our Run Trainers are highly experienced and will see who is doing it easy and also those who are finding it not so easy!

THE COURSE. Start at Queen Victoria Hospital.

We'll go down Kedumba to Leura Creek, Jamison Creek and then to the Helipad. We'll then run on to the sewer plant, Federal Pass, Leura Forest, up Leura Stairs and along the top past Leura Cascades, Wentworth Falls, Hordern Road and Kings Tableland Road.

PACE GROUPS. We'll have 3 Pace Groups - The MIGHTY TURTLES, a MID PACED group and the SPEEDY HARES.

GEAR. We will be using this as a race day prep run and ask you to bring the UTA50/100 Mandatory gear.

    START TIMES.

6:15am - meet 20km runners at Gordon Falls - transport to QVH

6:45am - Turtles pace group will start from QVH

6:45m - Extra km Hares and Extra km Mid Paced groups start

7:15am - Mid Paced group start from QVH

7:30am - Hares pace group start

    START LOCATIONS. Queen Victoria Hospital

    DISTANCE. 20km-34km-43km.

There will be an option to bail out on the run at about 20km at Gordon Falls.

FINISH TIME. We expect to be finished in 5 to 6 hours for the basic 34km and a little longer for the 7 hour group doing extra distance.

When the two groups meet down Kedumba runners can choose to stay in their same pace group or move up or down in the pace group and finish the run. There will also be a chance to swap groups during the run. You will not be left behind! Our guides are very experienced and will keep the groups together but still push the fitter, faster runners if needed.

NUTRITION. Please bring enough fuel and hydration for around 6-7 hours of time on feet walking/jogging/running. We will have some water drops on the run but please carry a minimum of 2 litres from the start.

MINIMUM AGE. We have a minimum age of 16 on this particular training run.

OTHER INFORMATION. Our Trainers are very experienced trainers with a huge knowledge of the area, the UTA courses and what is needed to get the best result for you on Race Day. The Trainers will discuss gear, race strategy, nutrition, pacing, aid stations, what to wear or pack for the race and how to pack it.

INFO SHEET. A full information sheet will be sent to all participants prior to the training day.

This will include meeting points, training course map, PDF Map link, instructions etc.

FEES. The fees for this event are:

    Full course - $90

    20km option - $85

This is including all booking and processing fees, National Park fees, transport if required and super experienced awesome running guides!

We will also assist in you getting back to your cars if you bail early.

If you want to park your cars at the 20km distance finish we will pick you up and get you to the start location for 7am. The 20km option follows the Kedumba parts of the UTA22 race course for 17km and then branches off up Leura Stairs to Gordon Falls.
