This challenging course covers 30 kilometers (18.6 miles), from Ferry Road Park in North Bend through Coos Bay’s waterfront finishing back at Ferry Road Park. Run/walk the whole thing yourself or form a 3-person team and make it a run or walk-cheer-athon. The first leg is relatively flat, the second is moderately rolling, and the third is for your hill lover! Note, prices listed are for the entire team.

Aid stations close at noon and the finish line closes at 1:00 PM, so plan to finish the walk in 6 1/2 hours, the run in 5 hours.

Water will be available at the exchanges, approximately every 6 miles.

Not into running or walking that far, but want to be involved? Volunteer!

Hilly, scenic trail run along the scenic Oregon Coast. Sunset Bay Trail Runs feature very challenging courses, especially for the longer distances and the views will take what breath you have left away. Seriously, this race has it all, killer hills through the woods, and an amazing flat cliff section where you'll see sea lions, rocks, the deep blue sea, and if you're very lucky, a passing whale. This is an amazing, not to be missed course.

Packet pickup and start/finish line is at the gazebo on far south end of Sunset Bay. Packet pickup is race morning only. Please come at least 1/2 hour before your race start time. Sunset State Park is a very gracious host and we want to keep our welcome warm. Please do not park on the grass!

Half-marathoners must have reached the aid station after the first loop at Cape Arago by 10:45. This is at approximately 6.5 miles. That is an 18:28 minute mile, which is almost a fast walking pace. If you arrive at the aid station after that, we will switch you to the 15K race, no worries, you will still have a great workout and a great time!

There will be water and Gatorade at the start/finish line and plenty of snacks at the finish. There is one aid station for the 15K and 1/2 marathon runners that will have water, gels, and other snacks. The 15K will pass the aid station twice and the 1/2 marathon will pass it 3 times. While we will have cups available, we encourage runners to carry a bottle to reduce waste. No littering on course! Please leave all waste at the aid station or carry it to the finish. Sunset Bay has been a gracious host for many years and we want to keep it beautiful.

There are restrooms at 4 miles for the 15 K and 1/2 Marathon participants. The course isn't on the road very much, but it is open to traffic, so be alert. This is a RRCA sanctioned event. For safety, NO headphones, rollerblades, skateboards (hey, you're on trails, that's not even possible), bicycles, animals, or jogging strollers are allowed during the race.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Marshfield High School Cross Country Team who will be manning the aid stations. Go Pirates!

Ribbons to top three winners overall and in each age-group. Farr's Hardware will donate a $50 gift card to a lucky random winner from each race. We will select a winner during awards. Must be present to win.
